Here are some messages written from the Kelowna community to the Ukrainian community by attendees at our fundraiser.

Everyday I think about how hard things
are for you! Only hope Canada and us will some small way make it a little easier!
Can't imagine how hard this is! Please know there are people who really care!

We are so happy to have you all here in Kelowna! May you feel welcome and at home. Know you are LOVED!!!

We welcome you with open hearts and hope you settle in here and know we want you to love Canada as much as I do.

I can't even imagine the emotions you all experienced on your journey, but hope you find joy and home.

Dear Ukrainian friends, may you find peace and friendship in Kelowna. May there be peace in Ukraine.

Welcome to Kelowna. So glad you have been able to make this beautiful city and our country your new home.

Thank you for bringing your culture, your hearts and courage. I look forward to taking you biking and playing badminton.

Embrace that you are with us in Kelowna and trust your friendships with all of us are lasting and rewarding.

We wish you love and peace and hope you are fitting in well to our community. We support you and Ukraine - 100%.

Stories

“I arrived to Kelowna on May 2022 with my husband and three kids. We left Ukraine because of war and we wanted to find a safe place for our kids. When I was searching for a job, I’ve met people who helped me with all my challenges.  Thanks to that people me and my husband found a job, our children found new friends. What is more important we decided to help other Ukrainian families with their challenges. Today, I’m so happy to be a part of “Heart and Hands for Ukraine”.
